Perspective. 2016, 8'x6'x7' Roofing material, neon and acrylic on boards
The dictionary literally defines Norfolk as an industrial port city. As an artist workingin the region, I don’t feel like it’s about convincing the world to look at us differently, it’s about inviting them to see the world from our eyes. It’s about perspective. The installation is a modern take on sunken treasure glowing from the inside of a mundane shipping container. Collaborating with the exhibit space and curators the installation doubled as a photobooth for the show.
Created for Native group show at Work | Release and made possible by the Rutter Family Art Foundation.
